For a thermistor bolometer the NEP is usually determined when the temperature of the black body radiation is 500 K, the reference temperature of the detector is 298 K, the noise band width is 1 Hz and with the modulation frequency in the lower audio or sub-audio range.
Practical Thermistor Bolometers
A thermistor bolometer consists of a matched pair of square, thin flakes or films of NTC thermistor material with linear dimensions between 0.1 and 10mm and with resistance values between 0.1 and 10M ohms.
Figure 6.2 shows the construction of a typical thermistor bolometer.
